Trifectiv® Plus Wound & Burn Care spray is ideal to treat burns, wounds, bites, scrapes, skin infections and other trauma to the skin. The active ingredient in our immune solution is our medical-grade, non-toxic HOCl (hypochlorous acid) at 380 mg/L.

The product ensures better, faster wound healing with a much lower risk of infection and a marked improvement in pain and odour in chronic non-healing wounds.

  2. Once dry spray the affected area with Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care and allow to air dry completely (please do not wipe or rub the solution into the skin).
  3. Once the skin is dry apply a barrier cream to the skin. Please do not use an ointment such as petroleum jelly.
  4. Repeat above steps with every nappy change or at least once every 2 hours until the nappy rash is resolved.
treat serious burns - how to with Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care PRO
  1. Remove any dead skin or other debris from the burned area.
  2. Thoroughly spray the affected area with Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care and allow to dry for 1 minute.
  3. Do not rub the solution into the skin.
*Note: if the burn has just recently occurred repeat steps 2 and 3 a few times to fast-track the reduction in inflammation.
  4. Spray 5 mL* of Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care onto 3-5 sheets of clean, non-sterile woven gauze until the gauze is wet but not drenched.
  5. Press the wet gauze directly onto the wound ensuring contact with the entire wound bed.
  6. Cover the gauze dressing with a crepe bandage or breathable (non-waterproof) dressing.
  7. Change the dressing every day or at a minimum each alternate day, following steps 4,5 and 6 with each dressing change.

*Each dressing of 3-5 layers of woven gauze requires 5 mL of product – this equates to 50 pumps (100 mL size bottle) or 10 pumps (450 mL size) per dressing. This ensures optimal wetting of the gauze for debridement and healing.

NOTES:
Why use gauze?
Woven gauze is an effective way to debride wounds and burns. The woven gauze fibres allow exudate, necrotic tissue and biofilm to adhere to the gauze - removing this from the wound with each dressing change. This effective debridement method optimises healing and radically reduces inflammation. Ensure at least 3 to 5 sheets of woven gauze are used and all the layers have been wet with Trifectiv® Plus before applying to the wound bed.

Paraffin gauze:
If, after removing the surgical gauze dressing, bleeding occurs then a single layer of non-medicated paraffin gauze can be applied before applying the gauze dressing BUT ONLY if ALL necrotic material (dead tissue, dead biofilm, foreign bodies) has already been removed through wet-to-moist debridement as per the above dressing steps. In pediatric burns a single layer of non-medicated paraffin gauze can be used before the gauze layers wet with Trifectiv® Plus Wound & Burn Care are applied. This will minimise discomfort during dressing changes.

treat venous and diabetic ulcers - how to with Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care PRO
  1. In some cases, sharp debridement of visible necrotic tissue may be required before the first application of Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care, for optimal results. This can be done via sharp debridement, or surgical debridement for more serious wounds.
  2. Wounds should be cleaned prior to application of the first dressing of Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care being applied. Do this by washing the wound with a sponge and warm water and a little bubble bath. Ensure that no cleanser remains on the wound after rinsing with clean water (do not wash with soap, salt water or any other disinfectant). Pat the wound dry with a clean towel. No further cleaning of the wound should be necessary when using Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care.
  3. Thoroughly spray the affected area and allow it to dry for 1 minute. Please do not rub the solution into the skin.
  4. Spray 5 mL* of Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care onto 3-5 sheets of clean, non-sterile woven gauze until the gauze is wet but not drenched.
  5. Press the wet gauze directly onto the wound, ensuring contact with the entire wound bed. If required use forceps.
  6. Cover the wet gauze dressing with a crêpe bandage or breathable plaster (do not use waterproof dressings). Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 every day or alternative days. Prior to applying the new dressing, you may wash the wound with a sponge and warm water with a little bubble bath if you feel it is required (if there has been a lot of exudate that has dried on the skin for example). Do not wash with soap, salt water or any other disinfectant.
  7. It is strongly recommended that patients should exercise regularly, to the extent that their condition allows. Exercise will help to boost blood circulation, which will assist with wound healing.

*Each dressing of 3-5 layers of woven gauze requires 5 mL of product – this equates to 50 pumps (100 mL size bottle) or 10 pumps (450 mL size) per dressing. This ensures optimal wetting of the gauze for debridement and healing.

Lower leg wounds:
In the case of lower leg wounds, always apply a compression stocking over the dressing to control inflammation. This must be worn 24/7.

treat pressure sores - how to with Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care PRO
  1. In some cases, sharp debridement of visible necrotic tissue may be required before the first application of Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care, for optimal results. This can be done via sharp debridement, or surgical debridement for more serious wounds.

  5. Press the wet gauze directly onto the wound, ensuring contact with the entire wound bed. For deeper wounds, ensure that the wet gauze layers are fully plugged into the wound so that direct contact with the entire wound surface is achieved (use forceps if required). Ensure that all gauze swabs are reachable and visible to avoid leaving swabs inside any cavities. For deep, narrow wounds you can syringe them with Trifectiv Plus Wound & Burn Care before dressing.
  6. Cover the wet gauze dressing with a crêpe bandage or breathable plaster (do not use waterproof dressings). Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 every day or alternative days. Prior to applying the new dressing, you may wash the wound again with a sponge and warm water with a little bubble bath if required (if there has been a lot of exudate that has dried on the skin for example). Do not wash with soap, salt water or any other disinfectant.
